A shed building materials manufacturer in Melbourne, Australia, has announced it has been awarded $5 million by a government agency to create and install a new, 3,000-square-metre manufacturing facility.
The facility, which will include a new plant and a new manufacturing facility, will be constructed in the city of Melbourne.
The company, which has been running since the 1990s, said it had been working for the past six years on the project.
The Melbourne-based company, called Shed Building Materials, has a long history of manufacturing building materials in the region, including in Adelaide and Brisbane.
The shed-manufacturing facility is expected to be the first of its kind in Australia.
The Australian Federal Government has funded the project through its $40 million project Innovation Innovation and Manufacturing (INCAM) program, which aims to help local businesses achieve economic growth through research and innovation.
“We are excited to partner with the Australian Government to support this innovative new manufacturing project, which is expected be completed in 2020,” said Greg Anderson, Shed Building Products’ chief executive.
“Shed Building Materials is an internationally renowned shed-builder and one of the leading supplier of building materials and building systems.
We look forward to delivering the new facility to the Melbourne metropolitan area and to the surrounding community.”
Shed Building products was founded in 1988 and has a presence in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
It produces products in three areas: sheds, flooring and materials.
It also supplies building materials for buildings and houses.
In 2010, Shed building products was ranked number one on the Australian Building Materials Association (ABCMA) best-selling list.
